Happy 2022 day-026! Today’s update, using CRI and SRI to calculate an average of values…
In #Workday there are often many ways to solve a puzzle. One example is finding the average of a list of values. These four CF functions are typically needed to calculate an average:
1) True|False Condition: “zCF TFC is xyz”, assuming you only want to include the xyz part of the list, not the entire list.
2) Count Related Instances: “zCF CRI total count of xyz objects”
3) Sum Related Instances: “zCF SRI total sum of values in the xyz objects”
4) ARithmetic Calculation: “zCF ARC average value of the xyz objects”
Here are two ways to sum and count the values, before doing the arithmetic:
– Use your TFC in the SRI and CRI in “Instances where condition is true”
– Use your TFC in an EMI and then in the SRI and CRI check “All instances”
The picture shows a challenge of calculating the average weight of all the Yellow pumpkins in a pumpkin patch. The orange question mark on the bottom is there to ask “How would the SRI and CRI setting be different if you chose the EMI path?”
Yesterday’s #happy2022workday day-025 post listed more real-life examples which we will review and maybe even create live during this morning’s Sharing Café from 8-9am PST.
