Happy 2022 day-024! Today’s update, wrapping up TFC calc fields…
Before focusing on the 1:M CFs topic in the upcoming Weekly Wednesday Sharing Café, one final post on True|False Condition (TFC) calculated fields. This one is focused on the importance of understanding how to combine conditions with AND and/or OR, in a TFC CF, or for that matter in a Report Filter.
Sidebar: For clarity, please encourage your team to always use parentheses around ANDs and ORs. Parens are particularly helpful in avoiding confusion (and possibly errors) with left-to-right using an “or” followed by an “and”.
The picture (Venn diagram) I borrowed from Eric Young who runs the boomerang.blog page.
CHALLENGE # 1: Can you explain in writing the definition of a Nerd? The definition of a Geek? Feel free to use AND, OR, & parentheses.
CHALLENGE # 2: Can you explain the difference between a Nerd and a Geek?
FAVOR: Back when I posted these types of challenges on the Community, I asked people to kindly not comment with an answer so as to avoid stealing somebody else’s learning opportunity. Here on LI is a different world. I’d like to ask for you to please consider holding until tomorrow before commenting with your answer. Or, simply place one of the Heart icons instead of a Like if this one is super easy for you.
TOMORROW: We step into CRI and SRI calculated field functions
