#happy2022workday day-019
Happy 2022 day-019! Today’s update from the Sharing Café…
——
CF = Calculated Field
RBO = Related Business Object
LRV = Lookup Related Value (CF function)
ESI = Extract Single Instance (CF function)
——
First, for those who missed yesterday’s CF interview question, a common use (maybe the most common use) of an ESI is to create a 1:1 (single instance) RBO for the purpose of doing an LRV.
For those who missed today’s 2022-01-19 Sharing Café, or who had to drop before the end, some good possible answers to a good question – Why is my new CF not available for use in my report filter?
A) Is your report “Optimized for Performance” (a.k.a. “Limited Filtering”)?
B) Is your CF on an RBO, thus requiring a Subfiler instead of a Filter”?
C) Did you use “Fields on Report” or the text search for your CF?
D) Do you have access to the field?
E) What’s your guess? (involved reader, enjoying this challenge, comment to add to the A, B, C and D options)
Looking forward to your answer, as we try to resolve this issue before next week’s 2022-01-26 Sharing Café, focusing on 1:M (multi-instance) RBO CF functions.
Extra Credit: Which of above options A, B, C, or D is a trick question?
